Clean oven and hob
To begin spring cleaning process with oven cleaning. Mix 3 teaspoons baking soda with a small quantity of warm water to form a creamy consistency. Cover the contaminated areas of the oven with the paste and allow it to stand for 5 to 15 minutes. The chemical compositions that are commonly used for this purpose are very toxic, especially when heated. The advantage of baking soda is that it is a natural substitute with excellent caustic effect against grease and coffee grounds. When cleaning a modern ceramic hob is important to prepare a mixture that is soft enough not to scratch the surface. After application of the soda paste, the dirt is removed more easily with a wet sponge. To finish the oven cleaning procedure, dry with a microfiber cloth.
Take care of washing machine
While waiting the baking soda paste to soak, take care of the washing machine. One of the most common problems with washing machine’s unpleasant odor, is that this odor is transmitted to clothes. Besides regular cleaning of the filter gasket and drawer dust, we recommend that you regularly do and comprehensive prevention of the washing machine against odor and lime. Put 2 cups vinegar and 3 tablespoons baking soda inside the powder compartment. Run the washing machine at maximum degrees without spin. The next time you wash your clothes, your laundry will smell of spring.
Sanitize dishwasher and clean the sink
Spring cleaning continues with cleaning the dishwasher and the sink. Fill the container for detergent of the dishwashing machine with vinegar and run it empty. Vinegar effectively removes odors and has a disinfecting effect. It doesn’t matter whether you will use apple cider or wine vinegar. Meanwhile, soak the sink from all sides, sprinkle the surface with baking soda and rub. If you feel an unpleasant odor from the sewer or you think the channel is clogged, pour 1 cup soda and 1 cup vinegar in it. After 10 - 15 minutes rinse thoroughly with hot water. Then rinse the entire sink. If the problem continues, you should contact a specialist for advice.
Clean and flavor the refrigerator
We can not miss the refrigerator in our spring cleaning of the kitchen. First, remove everything you keep inside. Check food products that you have taken out of the fridge. Discard those that have expired. Prepare a solution of vinegar / lemon juice (250 ml.) and water (250 ml.). For your convenience, you can pour into a spray bottle. Spray the entire fridge with prepared mixture and let it stand. After 10 - 15 min rinse the solution with a wet sponge and dry with a cloth. Finish cleaning the refrigerator with kitchen paper to shine.
Clean the cabinets, countertops and floor
Once you've improved the look of your kitchen appliances, be sure to arrange the cupboards and wipe the workspaces. Prepare universal cleaning mixture of soap (1 teaspoon), hot water (1 liter), 100 ml. lemon juice and a few drops of essential oil of your choice. Wash the floor with a rag and make a short break before the last step.
Clean the windows
Perhaps one of the most unpleasant activities of most housewives is washing the windows. Yet you will agree that you can not invite spring into your kitchen through dirty windows. Use the mixture from the spray bottle which you applied for refrigerator cleaning (1: 1 vinegar and water). Spray the window, and then clean with kitchen paper or a newspaper.
Although we call this process “spring cleaning”, you should do it much more often than once a year. It would be great if you can perform this 6 step cleaning procedure every month. Oven cleaning should be done every week if you want to save your home from the smell of burnt food. Moreover, the food you are preparing will be tastier.
