Besides baking soda, you can include ammonia in the oven cleaning process. Basically, there are two different ways for using the product for oven cleaning.

The first method is not so popular. You need to soak a towel in ammonia and place it inside the oven. Leave the towel for the night and clean the oven with damp sponge the next day.

The second method requires pre-heating the oven to 200 degrees C. After you have done this, fill a small container with water and ammonia in equal parts. Place the container inside the oven and leave it closed for several hours. At the end clean the stains with soapy water.

Some housewives avoid using ammonia for oven cleaning because of its strong odor. However, it is excellent natural method for maintaining the oven in superb condition. And what is more – ammonia smell is not so repelling like the smell of chemical products!

If there are fresh greasy stains in your oven, you can cover them with salt. It will absorb the grease and all you have to do is wipe the oven with damp sponge.
