How to Clean the Kitchen with Natural Products

Most women – mothers and wives – spend at least an hour in the kitchen every day. If you want this hour to be pleasant, you have to put all your efforts to give all the surfaces and kitchen appliances there a shiny look.

To avoid the use of questionable chemicals to clean the kitchen and keep it clean, it is sufficient to have vinegar, lemon and mustard powder. 

1. Mustard

Mustard dissolves fat easily, it is therefore indispensable for the cleaning of the kitchen. For oven cleaning you have to make a solution of 1 cup of water and 3 tablespoons of mustard powder. The mixture is applied with a wet sponge on all dirty surfaces. You should leave it for 10 minutes and then wipe it with a sponge or a soft cloth. The procedure is repeated as necessary.

With mustard you can wash the dishes in an environmentally friendly way. To do this, in a jar of water pour 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 3 tablespoons mustard. This solution will wash off any dirt from dishes - but if you miss the foam from the dishwashing liquid, you can grate some homemade soap in it.

2. Lemons

Lemons have antiseptic properties. Their juice destroys odors and dissolves grease.

To remove limestone from the frying pans, pour 2 cups of water in it, add 1 sliced ​​lemon and boil the water two times - the second time boil until it is perfectly clean.

To remove the scum from the surface of chrome faucets, rub them with a slice of lemon - and after 5 minutes rinse with water and rub it to a shine.

If you sense unpleasant odor in the refrigerator, you have to wash it with a solution of water and lemon juice in equal proportions. For a good cleaning you can also add a little baking soda.

It is known status when after cooking meals with fish or garlic arms remains an unpleasant odor. To remove it, rub them with lemon juice. Similarly, you can deodorize the knife and cutting board.

Lemon is useful product for microwave oven cleaning. Place sliced ​​lemon in a cup of water and turn the oven on for five minutes. The essential oil of lemon dissolves fats and fills the oven with a pleasant fragrance.

Lemon removes rust stains. On rust you have to squeeze lemon juice. Leave it to stay for some time. Finally, rub the surface with clean cloth.

Moreover, you can clean silverware and stainless steel and alpaca with lemon juice.

Instead lemons, for the same purposes may be used citric acid powder (salt of lemon), but in smaller quantities.

3. Vinegar

Vinegar has incredible disinfectant properties. It is useful to have in your kitchen sprayer with a solution of water and vinegar in equal proportions. Spraying the working surface for cooking and cutting board products will prevent microbial growth.

If in the box for bread has appeared mold or nasty odor, rub the inside surface with vinegar. If necessary, repeat the procedure several times.

Porcelain sink can be rubbed with vinegar and baking soda to make a snow-white.

A very useful tip for oven cleaning is making a solution of white vinegar and orange peels. For that purpose take 2-3 oranges and peel them. Place the peels in a jar and cover them with white vinegar. Close the jar and leave it to stay for 5 days. After this period is gone, pour the vinegar from the jar into a spray bottle. Spray the inside of the oven with it. Leave it to stand for 30-40 minutes and then wipe with damp cloth. Vinegar will kill the bacteria in the oven while orange peel juice will remove the grease from the walls.

Don’t forget to take the oven racks out before starting the oven cleaning procedure. Place them in the sink which is filled with hot water. Add dishwashing liquid in the sink and leave the racks to soak for 3-4 hours. If you clean the oven racks once a week, you won’t need to soak them for such long period of time. 20 minutes will be enough for removal of greasy remains if you clean the oven racks more often.

You can clean the side bars with a mixture of baking soda and water. Take a sponge and rub the side bars with that mixture. Then pour vinegar solution on it. At the end, just clean the bars with hot water and dry with cloth before placing them back in the oven. 

For cleaning the oven glass door you can use the same cleaning method. Make a mixture of baking soda and water and apply it on the glass. Leave it for 15 minutes or more and wipe with damp cloth. You can use old newspapers to dry the glass.
